RI7ER JOURNAL POSTS

Planet River is going to host a series of 5 races for whitewater kayakers this summer 2014. All will be on a Sunday evening. With an easy-going vibe, rad prizes, free entry on fun sections of the river on a day of the week when anything is possible.  Easy WW2 & WW3 for most events, except for Åwesome Åmot, WW4. 

Safe river levels will choose what order the events go. Sundays location will be announced the Wednesday and finalised the Saturday before race day. After each event, will be social but have a large prize-giving and BBQ after final event. The first event is on the 8 June.

We will attract a fair few of the local crew, HIL Padleklubb juniors, river instructors who work the summer here on the Sjoa. This base will support the event with the bonus sometimes of foreign kayakers and Oppland county paddlers and other Norwegian travelling paddlers in the area over an event.

Race program, poster, accident plan, racing bibs, volunteers from Heidal Idretts Lag have been secured.  Sponsors are currently being approached for support too guarantee a loaded prizes table.  Avalancha is making 2 custom pfd´s for winners. Strie Strømmer kayak shop up the road has committed to goodie bags of river toys. Paddlers First has trucker caps for division winners.
