The waypoint menus (see example below) were created by the PLANET RIVER team prior, during and after the source to mouth expeditions. These waypoint menus will continue to be developed and updated.

Log the co-ordinates into your GPS prior to your trip, and combined with printed maps and the waypoint menus you will have a sound navigation set-up for your expedition.

The Google Earth routes combine well with the waypoint menus to help plan your river journey. You will need to have the Google Earth application installed on your PC to view the .kmz files

NOTES:

Column 1 is the waypoint number.

Column 2 is the waypoint name & the 1:50 000 map number.

Column 3 is the waypoint name´s co-ordinates. (Degrees, minutes & seconds, compass)

Column 4 is the waypoint number and notes. (Contact us if you would like to add notes from your experiences)

Column 5 is the paddling distance from Waypoint #1. (NB. this is approximate river paddling distance and not the rivers length)

Column 6 is the waypoint´s height above sea level. (This will help with calculating gradient between chosen waypoints)
